ECO-GT pilot modules on campus: evening workshops on communication and feedback
As part of the piloting of ECO-GT educational modules, a series of evening workshops was organised in March 2025 on campus at Gdańsk University of Technology. The meetings were open to all interested students and took place over several consecutive evenings.
The workshops focused on practical communication skills relevant to academic and professional work. Students worked on presenting ideas, negotiating, and writing clear, professional texts. Part of the programme was also devoted to analysing the credibility of scientific and popular science texts, as well as project materials published by research institutions.
A separate block was dedicated to feedback. Participants discussed what constructive feedback looks like and how feedback can support collaboration. The classes were completed by practical exercises based on real situations brought in by the students themselves.
The evening format allowed for focused work in a small-group setting and encouraged open discussion. By working on concrete examples from their own academic experience, students were able to test and refine communication skills that are rarely addressed directly in engineering programmes but are essential in everyday academic and professional practice.
