ABOUT THE PROJECT

Title: Engineers Communicating and Collaborating Internationally for the Green Transition ECO-GT
Project number 2023-1-PL01-KA220-HED-000165199
Call: 2023 – EAC/A10/2022 Program Erasmus+  KA2 Higher education
Start date: 2023-09-01
End date: 2026-08-31
Budget: 400 000,00 EUR

The ECO-GT project aims to address the pressing need for effective international communication skills among green-transition engineers. Research consistently indicates that engineering graduates often lack the necessary skills to communicate, collaborate and participate across a range of non-technical discourse communities, whether in interdisciplinary research and development, business and innovation, or at the interface of technology and policymaking. For green-transition engineers, this severely limits their potential to influence the diffusion of green transition innovation and to combat the global climate crisis. The project seeks to develop a framework of international communication competences specific to green-transition engineers, which can be translated into learning outcomes, educational curricula, flexible mini-modules, and assessment criteria. The project also aims to build capacity for partner universities – and other multiplier organisations – to sustainably promote and foster the development of international communication skills for engineers in the long term, by exploring ways to integrate international communication skills education into engineering curricula. By emphasizing the importance of international communication and collaboration, the ECO-GT project seeks to find ways to systematically and sustainably embed this critical skillset into engineering education, ultimately preparing green-transition engineers to have the greatest possible impact on the global stage.
